SEO for WordPress category description (of Categories are indexed). If you are using All in one SEO pack or Platinum SEO plugin for your blog and have indexed the Categories for your blog, then you should fill the category description space, because this will add more to Search Engine Optimization for WordPress blog.
Many of the WordPress bloggers will not index their blog categories, because as it may lead to multiple meta description error for search engine. But if you want categories to be indexed, then go to your All in one SEO plugin page and uncheck the Use noindex for Categories: column. Now go to your blog dashboard >> Post >> Categories. Now go to the category you want to edit and enter description related to that category in not more than 160 characters. Check after 2-3 days, your categories will be indexed with the description on the search engines.
I’ve just done that. Beside being supposedly seo friendly, i think editing category description also improves the look of the website and the navigation as it tells visitors clearly where they are. Thanks for the tips
